GOVERNING BODY MEMBERS

Ms Marion Wheater:  Executive Head (wheat@saxonwoldprimary.co.za)
It has been my privilege to lead the Saxonwold Community since April 1994. I believe that it was no coincidence that my tenure as a Principal began at the same time that our country had its first democratic elections. I was free to create the school of my dreams, " a multiple everything". My personality too, is multi-faceted; I enjoy a variety of activities, from reading, to sports, to African Jazz and gardening, and my life is full of interesting people.

Mrs Fatima Habib - Chairperson (fateema.habib@gmail.com)

I am passionate about contributing toward making our society a more just and fair one and that extends to our educational system. As a parent of 2 children at SPS, I am deeply committed to our school and my role on the SGB further allows me to interact, participate and contribute meaningfully to our wonderful school.  Being actively involved with SPS, as a both a parent and an SGB member has both enriched my life as well as humbled me. It is my firm conviction that ALL parents have an obligation if not a duty to be actively engaged with their children's education through consistent interaction with not only the child but the teachers as well. Our school is an exemplary one that fosters a set of values combined with quality education in every learner and for that and more, as  a parent, I am delighted to play a role on the SGB as the Chairperson.

 Mrs Cheryl Kotwal:  Secretary (ckotwal@saxonwoldprimary.co.za)
I am passionate about English language and History and majored in both at Varsity. I have developed course material and "Trained the Trainers" on the Revised National Curriculum and OBE for Wits University. I was a founder member of the National Association for Multi-Religious Education and was involved in writing the Unit Standards for SAQA for Religious Education. I see teaching as a vocation and love being in the classroom. In my "spare" time I read as much as possible and spend time with my five dogs. I am one of the elected Teacher Representatives on the Governing Body, and also responsible for Policy Development.

Mrs Hajira Khan - H.O.D. The Wold (hajira@thewold.co.za)

I have many years of teaching experience and am passionate about teaching little ones. I have been Head of Department of The Wold since 2001. I am in charge of overseeing the efficient running of the Pre-School by ensuring that quality teaching and learning occurs.  I direct and produce yearly cultural and sporting events.  I keep up to date with modern teaching trends by attending and presenting developmental programmes.

My outside interests include walking, cooking, reading and spending time with my family.

Dr Dorothy Nairne:   PARENTS' ASSOCIATION LIAISON & LETU (dorothy.nairne@gmail.com)

Ms Wendy Matthews: Financial Director (wendy@mvula.co.za)

I like to cook for my family and enjoy the company of all my friends and colleagues.  I love reading biographies and my favourite show on the tele is C.S.I.
