GENERAL NEWSLETTER NO. 4/2011 1 March 2011
LIVING VALUE: HUMILITY AND SIMPLICITY
Dear Parents / Caregivers
"You know more than you think you know, just as you know less than you want to know!" (Oscar Wilde).
I love this quotation, I think it is very apt for a school. One way in which to change the balance of this is by interacting with other people; we learn through other's experiences and knowledge. So .... Come along on Saturday morning 5th March and meet and interact with the other parents from your child's class, you never know what you might learn!
CLUB FAMILY - School "fixing" project. All parents and learners are encouraged to come along between 08H30 and 13H00. ACTIVITIES: (Your class reps will be in contact with you) Grade 1 - Vegetable garden & covering of reading books. Grade 2 - Repairing Foundation Phase playground. Grade 3 - Gardening and painting hopscotch. Grade 4 - Library clean-up, cleaning of Grade 4 classrooms. Grade 5 - Painting of furniture, chess board and pictures. Grade 6 - Cleaning & repairing the mosaic badge, graffiti wall. Grade 7 - Sexuality talk with parents, cleaning and sprucing up the senior toilets.

ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB Our drive towards our recycling initiative has taken off very well. We encourage all learners and parents to continue bringing newspapers, cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles for our recycling project. We are able to win prizes! The school that brings in the most tons of recycling material could win a toilet makeover from Nampak.
Yours sincerely M.E. WHEATER PRINCIPAL
