A warm welcome from the heart, but a chilly, wet welcome from the weather for the second term; this means that winter uniforms (in their entirety) must be worn.Our swop shop has a wide selection of winter uniform items.It is now open on a Monday 07H30 to 08H00, Wednesday 09H00 to 10H30 and Friday 13H00 to 13H30.Children are required to wear their sports uniform for P.T. lessons, i.e. house T-shirt (available from the office @ R20.00) tracksuit and white takkies.
We are also selling the following uniform items from the office: Ties R45.00 School socks R45.00 Sports socks (girls & boys) R45.00 Netball 'skorts' R150.00 Beanies R60.00
We welcome back to our school Mrs Jane Elliott, who has taken over as our I.T. specialist.Mrs Elliot has vast experience in computer teaching and literacy and we are very excited to once again have her on our team.Mr van Zyl will be taking up a full time position with his church and will be leaving us at the end of the term.Due to these two changes in our staff we have found it necessary to change the learners' time-tables in Grade 4-7.Please assist your child in packing the correct books for each day.
FOCUS AREA FOR TERM 2 We finally received our revised marks from the systemic evaluation which was conducted for our Grade 3 and Grade 6 learners at the end of 2008. The findings were released this time last year but we requested a re-mark as we were not satisfied with the given results.The revised results are as follows:

We are pleased with the results as we are in the top 3 schools in our District. However, we are developing better methods and insight into the teaching of Mathematics Grade 4 to 7.

CHARITY FOR TERM 2 The Villa Lubet Children's Home (uMephi) is an NPO and has been in existence since 1977.This is a halfway house for babies found abandoned, affected and / or infected with HIV/AIDS or released by their mothers with the view of adoption. We will be collecting baby products, clothes, nappies, food and milk formula (Infacare no. 1+2+3) for the uMephi project - Florida baby house.Their telephone number is 011472-7975 for anyone who would also like to volunteer their time or to visit the house to be with the children.
ECO CLUB We will be collecting empty printer cartridges.This will generate income for the school.The cartridges must not have been refilled before.Please support our drive with this eco initiative.Don't forget we are still collecting the used foil for our drive towards the biggest soccer ball for the World Cup.
