LIVING VALUE: LOVE
Dear Parents / Caregivers
"Truth should be in love and love in truth" (Swahili African Proverb).
In February our value for the month is "LOVE". With Valentine's Day situated in the middle of the month one tends to focus on romantic love. However, this month we would also encourage you to explore the different kinds of love with your child: the "Love of Self" which boosts self-esteem; family love; love for the environment and animals. There are many topics for you to discuss in the car or around the dinner table.
Thank you to our Grade 7s and their parents for the fantastic "Valentine's Fun Day" they organized last week. The Grade 7s raised R8317.44. Well done!
UNSUPERVISED LEARNERS AFTER SCHOOL There are still a number of children spending the afternoon on the school pavement. This is a very poor and unsafe practice. The school has no control over what these children are exposed to. PLEASE parents, you have selected this school because of the safe and caring environment, yet you will NOT fulfill your part of the contract. Please do the right thing! 1) Place your child in Aftercare, R285.00 without lunch. 2) Collect them immediately after school or extramural activities. 3) Organise safe transport home.
MORNING AND AFTERNOON TRAFFIC Please adhere to traffic laws, when dropping off your child / children i.e: - Slow down; - Park on the correct side of the road; - All Parents and children to cross at the scholar patrol; - Do not park on the scholar patrol lines; - Be polite.
CLUB FAMILY NEWS Last night we held a very energetic first class rep's meeting. At the meeting Ms Mtirara was elected as the Chairperson. Many exciting ideas around parental involvement in our school were discussed. Your class rep will be contacting you soon.
N.B. 5 March 10h00 is our first Club Family Day. Please mark this down on your calendar!
On a very sad note, one of our past, very active Club Family moms, Daphne Frost, passed away after a short illness last Saturday. Our thoughts and prayers go to her daughter Tiffany at this very sad time.
