A thought for 2010

                                 IF I HAD MY CHILD TO RAISE OVER AGAIN

"If I had my child to raise all over again,

I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.

I'd finger-paint more, and point the finger less.

I would do less correcting and more connecting.

I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.

I would care to know less and know to care more.

I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.

I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.

I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.

I'd do more hugging and less tugging.

I'd see the oak tree in the acorn more often.

I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.

I'd model less about the love of power,

And more about the power of love."

Welcome to Saxonwold Primary for the 2010 year, a very special year for our country and a year full of learning and growth for our children.

A special word of welcome to Ms Jadi Mgandela and Ms Pascalle Jacquelin who have joined our staff, we look forward to the expertise that you bring to our school.

A new addition to the bookpack is our very own "Saxonwold Diary".  We have tried to incorporate all the information a parent would need to know on a daily basis.  Please go through the diary with your child to begin with and then make it a priority to sign it everyday.  Please complete the information page.  This tool will keep you up to date and in contact with the learning experience of your child.

19^TH JANUARY -                  GRADE 5 LEAVE FOR THEIR TOUR

22^ND JANUARY -                  ALL LEARNERS RETURN FROM TOUR

25^TH JANUARY -                  NURSE VISITS GRADE 6 & 7

28^TH JANUARY -                  PARENT'S MEET 'N GREET THE TEACHERS AT 5PM

BOOKPACKS

Please note that ALL bookpacks have to be paid for up front as this money goes directly to the stationers.  Unfortunately we cannot debit your account for this item.  All bookpacks cost R600.00.

FINANCE

NB:  School fees are paid in advance so please make sure that your January payment has already been deposited before we invoice for February.

UNIFORM

Uniforms are an extremely costly item, PLEASE label ALL of you child's uniform, if it is found it can then be returned to your child without delay.
